Haight Ashbury

Haight-Ashbury is often remembered as the place where hippies and The Grateful Dead will live on forever. There are two commercial centers in this popular neighborhood of elegant Victorian homes and flats. The better known is the Haight district, where the 1960’s are alive and well within many of the neighborhood shops and restaurants. Haight Ashbury real estate consists of classic San Francisco single family homes and flats, many with Victorian and Edwardian details including original moldings, hardwood floors and soaring ceilings. East of Haight Ashbury is what is known as “Lower Haight,” considered part of Hayes Valley. Up the hill is Buena Vista Park, dense with foliage and a dog park at the top. Oak and Fell Streets run along the district offering commuters a direct path to either downtown or into Golden Gate Park. Muni runs along Haight Street as well for those looking for public transportation.
