Sea Cliff

Stunning views of the Pacific Ocean as it pounds through the Golden Gate Bridge, the sweeping headlands of Marin across the gate, a wild and rolling golf course studded with towering cypress trees, and the open space of Lands’ End combine to lend the stately mansions of Sea Cliff a remote feel. Stand on your deck in Sea Cliff; watch the fog roll in across the Headlands and you could convince yourself you are watching a scene in the Scottish Highlands. There is no place like Sea Cliff in San Francisco. With its massive multi-million dollar homes and expansive, manicured lawns, Sea Cliff maintains an air of privacy and exclusivity. Older custom built houses reflect a fondness for Spanish Mission Style, French Beaux Arts, English Tudor, and Normandy style chalets. At the top of the hill overlooking Sea Cliff is Lincoln Park, with its immaculate golf course, and the beautiful Beaux-arts Palace of the Legion of Honor, a museum that showcases international art, popular exhibitions, and lectures. Sea Cliff is perched just above China Beach, a steep 104-step wooden walkway that leads to a small, protected, pristine shoreline on the Golden Gate where Sea Lions bask on the nearby rocks. Sea Cliff feels like a world away, but a few blocks drive to the Outer Richmond, the retailers along Clement and Geary Streets provide plenty of shopping and dining opportunities.
