Cow Hollow

Cow Hollow is known as one of the most desirable residential neighborhoods in of San Francisco. It sits just below Pacific Heights and spans from Green Street to Lombard Street and Van Ness Avenue to the sprawling Presidio. After the Department of Public Health ordered the removal of several dairies that dotted the North side of the hill landscape in the 1850’s, significant development began in the 1870s. Cow Hollow features primarily single-family homes, as well as condominium and apartment buildings. There are a variety of historically and architecturally significant homes in Cow Hollow and many properties benefit from spectacular views. There are multiple commercial areas within close proximity to Cow Hollow. Union, Chestnut, and Fillmore Streets offer a wide variety of upscale restaurants, bars, cafes, boutique shops and everyday conveniences. This is a quiet district at night during the week but bustling during the day.
