Possibly one of the most photographed neighborhoods in San Francisco, Alamo Square is home to the “Painted Ladies,” a row of colorful Victorian-era houses, backed by the City’s famous skyline. Alamo Park, in the center of Alamo Square, offers an excellent view of the Beaux Arts dome of City Hall, the surrounding cityscape and the tops of the Golden Gate Bridge and the Bay Bridge.

Numerous architecturally significant mansions line the perimeter of the square, including the Archbishop's Mansion, which was the residence of the Russian and German Imperial consuls in the early 1900’s. Contemporary lofts and condos are also springing up around the neighboring Hayes Valley area. An eclectic cultural mix defines Alamo Square. There are a plethora of Muni lines, and a BART Station is nearby. Access to the freeway is only a few blocks away making this a great neighborhood for commuters.
